KUR Wins Gold at 85th Annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards

Kutztown University Radio (KUR) has once again set a gold standard in collegiate broadcasting by securing a top award at the prestigious 85th Annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards in New York City this March. Amidst fierce competition from student radio stations around the world, KUR triumphed by bringing home the coveted award for 'Best On-Air Pledge Drive,' with its innovative "1866 Minute Giving Challenge." The relentless energy and creativity of the students during the nearly 31-hour live broadcast caught the judges' attention and epitomized the station's commitment to excellence in student-led media.

Social Work Celebrates 20 Years of Community Engagement with Annual Forum

The Department of Social Work will host the 20th Annual Community Forum 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 29, Schaeffer Auditorium. We are proud to announce that our keynote speaker will be Dr. Vijayan K. Pillai, professor of Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington, an expert on reproductive rights and author of "Social Development and Abortion Policies in the United States: State-Wise Variations." The event will raise awareness of the need to address reproductive rights and the impact on families in a post-Roe world, creating risks for families and also for social workers and other professional providers who guide and serve women in perinatal health, pregnancy and childbirth. Ethicists have reported that laws related to reproductive health, gender identity and sexual orientation have placed social workers and other human service providers in a complex milieu of potential legal violations. We are excited to share our accessible email signature for staff and faculty. This signature features the university’s official maroon color and is accessible for all audiences by removing gold and any logos. In this document, you will find instructions for Outlook on PC, Mac and the web app (OWA). We encourage the entire campus community to welcome and utilize this new signature to further advance our brand both on and off campus, and to align our efforts toward accessibility.
