Lunch and Learn: Identifying Bias and Developing Awareness

The Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) Professional Development Committee is proud to present the next workshop in our series of Lunch and Learns open to all faculty and staff. In this workshop, athletics diversity and inclusion officer, Bilal Salaam, and assistant director of Financial Aid, Michael Arias, will show us how to recognize bias and develop awareness to increase our understanding of the topic. Their presentation will take place noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 250 MSU. Light refreshments will be provided. Please use this link to sign up. Winter Holiday Food Box Drive

The Community Outreach Center is once again hosting the Winter Holiday Food Box Drive. Collection has begun with a firm due date of 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12. The Office of Student Involvement, 153 MSU, is open for deliveries from 8 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Email blichar@kutztown.edu to pre-arrange to have your box picked up by our staff on Mondays at 2 p.m. and Thursdays at 11 a.m. Details of what is needed can be found on GivePulse. Please feel free to decorate the box and/or add the name of the organization that prepared it. All families will receive a turkey in addition to the box.

Join Us for CSC355 Software Engineering Demo Day

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology is proud to announce the fall Senior Seminar Software Engineering Demo Day Tuesday, Dec. 6, 218 MSU. Presentations are 9:30 a.m. to noon and poster sessions are 1-3 p.m. Students have worked for two semesters on their projects, including web and mobile apps, a brewing monitoring app and a Discord bot.

Cinema, Television and Media Production to Host Second Tower Talks

Kutztown University’s Department of Cinema, Television and Media Production will host the second Tower Talks, a speaker event on campus, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, Rickenbach Auditorium. This event features KU alumni, faculty, staff and students and brings together the community to inspire all who attend. Tower Talks welcomes anyone from the greater Kutztown community to join. Doors open at 7 p.m. The event serves as a great way to showcase the talent that is fostered from the KU experience.
