Summer Food Donations Appreciated for On-Campus Students
At KU, we have approximately 18 students who are living on campus this summer who are experiencing food insecurity. Their housing is covered, but a food plan is not. We could use the help of staff and faculty who are around this summer. Here is how you can help:
- If you are making a casserole/chili/salad/side dish etc. this summer, think about making one extra. It doesn't have to serve 18 since these students do come and go. You can either package in individual containers, or bring in a big container, and Nadia Daher will divvy it up and return your container to you.
- Once your garden starts to produce the bounty of summer, bring in any extra.
- You could donate a gift card to Weis or Giant so that students could purchase needed perishable items (three $10 gift cards would be more beneficial than one $30 gift card).
Any donation can be delivered to 109 Stratton during normal business hours, or feel free to contact Nadia at 610-683-4169 or daher@kutztown.edu and she will come to you to pick it up. Please click the link below to sign up and let us know what you will drop off when (so that everyone doesn't decide on the same day), or let Nadia know and she can fill it in for you. Thank you for your consideration in providing donations to students on campus.
