Kutch and Aschenbrenner Present at NCUR Conference, Long Beach, Calif.

Sara Aschenbrenner, visual impairment, and Dr. Lynn M. Kutch, professor of German and coordinator of Undergraduate Research and Creativity, presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) Tuesday, April 9, Long Beach, Calif. They presented "A Collaborative Student-Faculty Model for Introducing and Developing Research Skills in a First Year Seminar Class." Along with another student collaborator Max Gattone, cinema, television and media production, they will also present a version of the presentation at KU Inspires, Wednesday, April 17.

Student Keystone Media Award Recipient

The Department of Modern Language Studies is proud to announce that student Kara Armstrong (BA Spanish; BA English/Professional Writing) won Honorable Mention (third place) at the 2024 Student Keystone Media Awards in the “Excellence in Reporting on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” category for her article published in the Keystone: "Modern Language Studies department fights proposed Spanish moratorium.” The contest is open to all high school, college or university students who have had their material published in their school newspaper.
