Welcome Nick Snyder, Director of Military and Veteran Services
We are pleased to welcome Nick Snyder as the new director of Military and Veteran Services. Snyder's first day is Monday, Feb. 10; he will be located in 260 MSU. Snyder was selected after a nationwide search and brings with him a wealth of experience, skills and student-centered service as only the second director of KU's Military and Veteran Services and the center. Snyder comes to KU from West Chester University, where he served as assistant director of Graduate Enrollment since 2022. Prior to that, Snyder was director of Military Recruitment/Senior Enrollment Representative at Eastern University for 10 years. Snyder was an Intelligence Agent/Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army for six years, earning an Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Global War of Terrorism Service Medal. Snyder earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern University. He lives in Birdsboro with his wife and four children, enjoys gaming and all things Star Wars, Marvel and Lord of the Rings.

Open Hour with Provost

Social Equity Policies Training
This spring, the Office of Social Equity will offer four Social Equity Policies training sessions pursuant to the university’s Anti-Harassment, Anti-Discrimination, Sexual Misconduct and Amorous Relationships policies.

Reminder: All faculty and staff members must take the Social Equity Policies training on a yearly basis. If you cannot recall when you last completed the training, please contact the Office of Social Equity, and we will be glad to check our records. If you would like to schedule an in-person training for your department, please send a request by email to socialequity@kutztown.edu or contact the Office of Social Equity at extension 3-4700. Please obtain approval from your supervisor if necessary.

Counseling Center Walk-In Hours
Counseling Center spring walk-in hours are 1-3 p.m. Monday and Friday, and 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During these times, students can meet with a counselor for a brief consultation and support without scheduling an appointment. The Counseling Center continues to provide short-term, solution-focused counseling by appointment as well as psychoeducational programs for classes and groups, and crisis intervention.

Chambliss Undergraduate Student Academic Achievement Awards
Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate undergraduate students graduating December 2024 or May 2025 for this prestigious award by the nomination deadline of Monday, Feb. 10. Assessment Grants Due March 3
The Office of Assessment is accepting applications for 2025-2026 Assessment Grants. Proposed grants may include assessment in the areas of program, cocurricular, general education and student outcomes. The maximum grant request may be funded up to $5,000, with individual stipends limited to $2,500. For full details on the scope of the grant, please see the Call for Proposals link. January Rating Day
The General Education Program and Assessment Committee (GEPAC) would like to extend a huge thank you to all the raters who were able to come out for January Rating Day Tuesday, Jan. 21. The weather was frigid, but the atmosphere was wonderful in 250 MSU with a roaring fire and raters working together to assess student learning in SLO6 across Categories B and D.
