See this amazing player, formidable composer and arranger at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, in Schaeffer Auditorium as the final performance of the 2023-24 KU Presents! Performing Artists Season. Beth Lattanzi's Dissertation Defense

KU Graphis International New Talent Awards 2024 Winners

Five students from the Department of Art and Design had work selected for inclusion in the Graphis International New Talent Annual 2024. This is a significant honor because thousands of pieces of design and advertising work are submitted from across the globe. We are proud to recognize the following students winners:
 - Roseld Languatan won a Silver medal for his Health and Safety Poster Series for the Boys and Girls Club from Professor Kate Clair’s Design Pioneers course.
 - Kelsey Dicker won an Honorable Mention for the design of her EverFiber Branding and Annual Report from Professor Kate Clair’s Corporate Publications course.
 - Emily Juliano won an Honorable Mention for her Hunger Games Trilogy Book covers from Professor Karen Kresge’s Introduction to Type course.
 - Kelsey Dicker won an Honorable Mention for her Workshop Branding from Professor Kate Clair’s Advanced Branding course.
 - Molly Heller won an Honorable Mention for her Hyperpop Met Gala Album Cover from Professor Karen Kresge’s Advanced Type course.
 - Abby Lichtfus won an Honorable Mention for her Melioration Popup Album Design from Dr. Denise Bosler’s Advanced Type course.

Join the KU Multicultural Center for our annual Diversity Marketplace, celebrating April's Diversity Month, noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 218 MSU, with vendors, local businesses, KU student organizations, offices and resources. We will also have a food truck and hot chocolate. There will be several vendors across Pennsylvania that are invited and will be selling products from jewelry, skincare, hair care, candles, apparel, paintings and more.

Faculty First Thursday Presentation

Please join us 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 4, 103 Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research, for the "Faculty First Thursday Presentation." We will share a brief history on the development of the Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research and the events that have led us to open this one-of-a-kind building, which has become a global destination for researchers, historians, performers and enthusiasts. We will then highlight some of the key instruments, people and their historical significance in our collection. This free presentation is open to the entire university community and is presented by the College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean's office, including Dr. Matthew Coley and Frank Kumor. Refreshments will be served 10:30-11 a.m.

Take Steps Toward a Longer, Healthier Life and Walk With Us

Incorporate purposeful walking into your daily routine. Every Wednesday in April, there will be one morning walk from 9-10 a.m. and one afternoon walk from 2-3 p.m. We will begin at the Health Center and then travel to the north side of campus. Golden Bear Gallop

The Community Outreach Center is excited to announce our first-ever Golden Bear Gallop - a 5K that you can walk or run on the beautiful north side of KU's campus. KU faculty/staff cost is $20.
