Speirs Awarded Pennsylvania Art Education Association’s Outstanding Higher Education Art Educator
Kutztown University’s Dr. Peg Speirs, professor of Art Education, is the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Higher Education Art Educator award from the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA). Through a rigorous review process, PAEA identified Speirs as an outstanding leader in the field of art education for her creative contributions, excellence in professional engagement and dedication to service. She stands out as a leader who is committed to the continued growth and collaborative efforts of art educators across the state of Pennsylvania. The award was presented during the PAEA conference Friday, Sept. 27, at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pa. Bilal Salaam Farewell
Bilal Salaam, Athletics DEI Officer and AIMS Program Coordinator, has accepted an offer at another institution. While we are sad to see him go, it is a great opportunity for him and his family and we wish him all the best in his next chapter. Salaam is a two-time KU alumnus, a KU Athletics Hall of Famer, a mentor to students, an advocate and advisor to several student organizations, and an exceptional student affairs and athletics administrator and educator. He will be missed. His last event will be hosting the AIMS Family Dinner Sunday, Oct. 20. If you would like to say farewell, you are invited to join us for a reception 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 250 MSU.

ACT Presents Bull in a China Shop
Kutztown University's fully student-run theater group Actors Creating Theater (ACT) is performing "Bull in a China Shop" by C.B. Gifford 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17; 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, Little Schaeffer Theater. A whirlwind of love and poisoning with little old ladies and an attractive detective. Come find out who lives and who loves. ACT students are in all four colleges at the university and you're likely to see a student you know on stage or working as stage crew. Tickets are $8 for faculty and staff.

South American Percussionists Performing at KU
Percussion virtuosos Bruno LoBianco and Oscar Albrieu Roca, members of Tambor Fantasma, a leading ensemble in the contemporary music scene of South America, join the KU Percussion Ensemble for an evening of international music 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research. This free, non-ticketed event is open to the public.

Invoices - SourcePoint
For expenses entered through SourcePoint, the department must forward all invoices to Accounts Payable for payment. Procurement does not forward any invoices attached to PRs to the Accounts Payable office. Ensure the purchase order number is indicated on the invoice and send it with approval to pay to apinvoice@kutztown.edu. If the invoice is for a service, once Accounts Payable enters the invoice for payment, you will receive an email notification to approve the invoice in SourcePoint.
