Healing Arts Anti-Gun Violence: The Power of Love

"Healing Arts Anti-Gun Violence: The Power of Love" is a 21-foot banner created by students, staff and faculty at Cheyney University in collaboration with Apologues, a nonprofit that focuses on assisting individuals to heal, empower and advocate against violence. Dr. Marietta Dantonio Madsen, their professor, guided the project beginning September 2022 in coordinating the surviving families of gun-violence victims to create panels commemorating their loved ones. Madsen will be at KU for the reception to spiel about the resulting powerful and uplifting experience 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, Brass Rail Gallery, MSU, with a 5 p.m. presentation in 223 MSU.
