U.S. News and World Report Rankings 2024-2025 for Best Regional Universities

Kutztown University has been named a "Best Regional University" for 2024-2025 in the U.S. News and World Report's annual ranking of U.S. colleges and universities. U.S. News lists KU as No. 115 in the first tier of the Best Regional Universities for the northern region, one spot higher than last year. KU has been ranked in the first tier since 2011.

Sustainability Summit: Power Our Future

The College of Business is thrilled to host the 2024 Kutztown Sustainability Summit, "Power Our Future," Wednesday, Sept. 25, de Francesco Building lobby. This event will offer networking opportunities, exhibitions and a demonstration of hydrogen and electric-powered vehicles, along with a special video on hydrogen production at Kutztown 5-6 p.m. The program will officially begin at 6 p.m. with a keynote address by Mr. Sami Kabbani from Reworld Waste, followed by two insightful panel discussions: "Energy for the Future" and "Sustainability Education." We are grateful to our sponsors: Air Products, UGI, Greenworks, the Sustainable Energy Fund and EnTech Engineering. The summit aims to inspire students, faculty and the community to engage in sustainability initiatives. We warmly invite you, your family and friends to join us for this impactful event.

Piano Recital Featuring KU Alumna

Join us for a special piano recital by KU alumna Georgia Lazaridou 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, Schaeffer Auditorium. She'll perform works by Schubert, Schumann, Liszt and Silvestrov.

Faculty First Thursday Presentation

The Faculty First Thursday presentation will be held 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Oct. 3, 120 Shadarin. Refreshments available at 10:30 a.m. "Latine/X Speculative Art, with the artwork of Jorge Elias Gil," is curated by Dra. Leslie C. Sotomayor II. "Voy a verte/l'm going to see you" centers Cuban artist Jorge Elias Gil Viant's interdisciplinary artworks as they encompass a father/son lineage of geographical and psychological diaspora through lived experiences. Gil's works include drawings, paintings, poetry, collage and a short film. He explores themes of identity, migration and family diasporas through life experiences between himself in Cuba and his son in the United States. "Voy a verte/l'm going to see you" invite us to witness an intimate father/son relationship, their love notes, hopes and photos shared. This free presentation is open to the entire university community and is presented by the dean’s office, College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Celebration of Life

The Department of Music requests your flexibility in allowing students to attend the memorial service for KU Commercial Music student Mason Kinsey this Friday, Sept. 27. This event holds great significance for many; your understanding during this time would be deeply appreciated. If students need to miss class or reschedule assignments, I hope you will consider accommodating them as they navigate this moment of remembrance. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be hosted by the Kinsey family Friday, Sept. 27, at Normandy Farm, Grand Ballroom, 1401 Morris Road, Blue Bell, PA. Visitation with family begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Mason G. Kinsey Endowed Scholarship Fund, which will provide scholarships in his name for Kutztown music students in need (please select Mason for the Designation).
