The Frederick Douglass Institute (FDI) announces the start of the Winter 2025 Critical Book Club featuring Dr. Tia Brown McNair’s Strengthening Campus Community Through the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Framework. Since the 2022-2023 academic year, the FDI Critical Book Club has been an inclusive professional learning community (PLC) for collective reading and discussion of thought-provoking books about pressing social issues. Administrators, faculty, staff and graduate students are welcome to participate and can learn more and share scheduling preferences via this link: Book Club Survey. The welcome and concluding meetings are held in person, while all other sessions are conducted via Zoom. Scheduling for both formats is managed through Doodle; space is limited to 15 participants. Participants will be contacted to pick up their Critical Book Club Starter Pack, including a copy of the text, the reading schedule and literary resources before winter break. We hope you will consider joining and supporting the FDI Critical Book Club.
