Weidensaul Exhibit Unveiled at Rohrbach Library

President Hawkinson welcomed former honorary doctorate recipient Scott Weidensaul back to campus Wednesday, Oct. 30, as a new exhibit was unveiled at Rohrbach Library showcasing Weidensaul’s work. Weidensaul, who attended KU and was awarded an honorary doctorate from the university in 2017, is a Pennsylvania-based naturalist and author. He was a finalist for the 2000 Pulitzer Prize in general nonfiction for his book “Living on the Wind: Across the Hemisphere with Migratory Birds.” He was a long-time board member at nearby Hawk Mountain in Kempton, Pa. Weidensaul and Hawkinson are shown with Martha Stevenson, director of Library Services.

Weather

Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger

Following almost the same exact pattern as last week where it started the week chilly, got unseasonably warm and then went into the weekend chillier, the same holds true this week. Today, the heat peaks with near record temperatures of around 80 under partly sunny skies. Gusty southwest breezes. Tonight may actually see a rare-for-this-autumn rain shower followed by cooler weather working in later Friday and into this weekend.
