Autism, Accommodation and Academia: Guest Speaker with Book Signing April 10

Join us at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 145 Boehm, to hear nationally renowned journalist and author of "We're Not Broken," Eric M. Garcia, speak about "Autism, Accommodation and Academia: An Unrequited Love Triangle." The event is free to faculty, staff and students, is followed by a book signing and sponsored by the university's Title III grant. Register today. You are also invited to "A Taste of Inclusion" from 4:30-6 p.m. for refreshments, networking and thought-provoking discussion prior to attending Garcia's event. This is sponsored by the Commission on Human Diversity. A separate RSVP is requested for food counts.

The KU Career Development Center will host the 44th Annual Job Fair for Educators 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, March 17, 218 MSU. Students will have the opportunity to talk with more than 65 education employers. Feel free to stop by and encourage our students.

Spring Break Tree Work

Our tree vendor will be onsite removing some hazardous branches near Boehm Science Center, Tuesday, March 18. The tree overhangs the sidewalk between Boehm and the detention pond. The vendor will control pedestrian and vehicle travel as needed. The work will likely take 2-3 hours to complete. If possible, please use an alternate route.

BYO Lunch and Learn: Performance Management

The Office of Human Resources' next BYO Lunch and Learn for managers will be on the topic of Performance Management, noon to 1 p.m., Friday, March 21, 312 McFarland Student Union. Register online. Those who attend will learn about Kutztown University's performance management philosophy, processes and resources. Future BYO Lunch and Learns will include Occupational Safety (April 18), The Hiring Process (May 16), Supervising SCUPA Employees (June 20) and Leaves of Absences (July 18). Need an idea for lunch? Call for Nominations: 2025 John P. Schellenberg Award

The purpose of this award was established by John P. Schellenberg, professor emeritus of physical sciences, faculty, alumni and friends to recognize an early career faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding work within the mission of the Center for Engaged Learning. To be eligible for the award, an individual must have been on the faculty full-time at least three but not more than seven years. The recipient will be chosen based on the following three areas:
1. Pedagogy and Curriculum Innovation
2. Learning Technology Innovation
3. Assessment and/or Research on Learning
The recipient will be awarded $1,250 check and an engraved plaque. Please submit a nomination letter and curriculum vitae to Douglas Scott at dscott@kutztown.edu by 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 4. Nominated candidates are also required to submit their own letter (maximum of two pages) that clearly outlines their qualifications in all three categories mentioned above. Wrestling Secures Program-Best Team Finish at NCAA Championships

The 20th-ranked Kutztown University wrestling team finished its season with a program-best eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships inside the Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis, Ind., Saturday, March 15, closing out a historic season with four grapplers on the podium for the first time in program history. The Golden Bears had four wrestlers competing for placing on the day, with No. 2 Matthew Weinberg (184 lbs.) and Freddie Retter (285 lbs.) among the final four in their respective weight classes, while 165-pound Bailey Gimbor and 10th-ranked 174-pound Dalton Gimbor secured All-America honors Friday, March 14, and also competed for placing on Saturday.
