College of Education Partners with Area School Districts to Provide Early Access to Careers in Education
Kutztown University’s College of Education, in partnership with area high schools, is helping to create access to careers in education with a unique, dual enrollment program: the "KU Early College Academy for Education." The Early College Academy for Education is a new take on dual enrollment. High school students who have a general interest in working with children and education studies can attend classes on KU’s campus, where they will take two courses in the fall semester and two in the spring. The four courses count toward majors in education. More than 40 students are slated to begin with the 2024 fall semester. Read more.

KU Faculty, Site Supervisors, Alumni attend Advocacy Day at State Capitol
Dr. Lauren Moss, professor of Counselor Education and Student Affairs, joined many KU counseling program alumni, site supervisors and school counselors across the commonwealth for the Pennsylvania School Counselors Associations 'Hill Day,' organized to support the Pennsylvania School Counseling Services Act. This legislation is designed to establish guidelines for comprehensive school counseling services in schools, which deliver the kinds of primary care students need to support their holistic health and wellness and overall school success (Pennsylvania is currently the only state in America that has not adopted a defined school counseling program or required school counseling in schools).
