Celebrating Dia de los Muertos

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, we are celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Widely celebrated in Mexico, the uplifting holiday is a time to celebrate and remember those who have passed on. Offerings or "offrendas" are often given and a table is set up that can include a loved one's favorite food and their picture. The Multicultural Center is hosting a table noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, McFarland Student Union Building to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Please stop by to set alight a tea light for a loved one who has passed on, or you can send us a copy of a picture before the event that we will print out in black and white to include on the altar. Ruby Garcia, MCC student worker, will lead us in painting sugar skulls. We will have Mexican hot chocolate and traditional pastries. Feel free to stop by the event to learn more about the holiday. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at multicultural@kutztown.edu.
