KUR to Receive National Election Coverage Audience

Kutztown University Radio will participate in nationally syndicated election coverage today (Election Day), Nov. 5, and tomorrow, Nov. 6. The station has been asked to be the featured broadcast from 8-8:30 p.m. this evening on Student News Live, a product of the College Radio Day Foundation, meaning what is streaming out to affiliates nationwide will be coming from your very own Kutztown University Radio station, KUR. This opportunity is providing KUR news students a stellar opportunity at real live news coverage of a major national story and will give our listeners the opportunity to hear something atypical of the ordinary offerings tonight on national cable television. We hope you'll tune in to KUR and support us.

CEL Workshop: Playing the Motivation Game

Student motivation is a huge issue in our courses and many faculty identified this as one of their top challenges. In this workshop held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, CEL Office, 6 Rohrbach Library, we'll play some games to find new ways to motivate the students in our courses. Led by Erin Kraal, you'll leave with new ideas to inspire your students, with a few prizes, too.

Faculty Can Continue to Raise Kudos and Flags in Starfish

The Midterm survey is closed; however, faculty can continue to raise kudos and flags of concern by just selecting the preferred course and using the flag or kudos buttons. Flags of concern include "in danger of failing," "recommendation to withdraw," or a "custom academic concern." Faculty can also indicate if a student has "stopped attending" (with the date of last attendance entered in the comment field). Every kudos and flag template has an option to add custom content; two options are completely customizable. All message templates can be viewed in Starfish D2L. Please email starfish@kutztown.edu, call 610-683-4106 or attend a Starfish drop-in training session.
