Evacuation Drills - South Campus

Weather permitting, we will be conducting evacuation/fire drills in all non-residence buildings located on South Campus Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 22-23. Please take a minute to review the building evacuation plan for your area. Evacuation plans are posted at various locations, typically on walls in hallways within each building. The focus of the evacuation drills is to practice a safe and expedient egress from the building in the event of an emergency. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Feed the Bears

We're excited to announce a special initiative during Homecoming 2024 that aims to raise awareness and support for our students facing food insecurity. The Office of Student Involvement and the KU Foundation are partnering to host a “Feed the Bears” tent 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, DMZ. Since its inception in 2015, the Bear Essentials Pantry has seen a remarkable increase in usage, currently serving an average of 41 students daily. This growth reflects the ongoing need for support and we’re counting on your help to meet that need. We’ve borrowed 15 shopping carts from Weis Markets, Inc. with the goal of filling each one during our two-hour event. We invite your office to participate by collecting donations from staff, family and friends to help fill a cart. Every contribution counts, and together, we can make a significant impact. If your office is able to participate, please let us know; we would be happy to assist in any way possible. Thank you for considering this opportunity to support our students. Let’s work together to make this Homecoming memorable and impactful.
