Football Earns Highest Ranking in Program History
Kutztown University football broke into the top five of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Poll for the first time in program history Monday, Oct. 7. The Golden Bears improved to 5-0 on the season with Saturday's 42-10 win over Bloomsburg and moved up from No. 8 to No. 5 in the latest poll following losses by three of the top seven teams in last week's poll. Prior to Monday's poll release, Kutztown's previous high ranking was sixth back in 2011.

Join us 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 223 MSU, for a presentation by Maria Melendez, founder and CEO of the nonprofit Embrace Her Legacy. She's been featured in Forbes, Essence, Latina.com and TEDx talk. Let those negative thoughts go while learning how to embrace your greatest self. Student Organizations Looking for Advisors
If there is anyone that would like to advise a student organization or be outreached to when student organizations are looking for advisors, please contact Laura Fenimore in Student Involvement at fenimore@kutztown.edu. Currently, the Crochet Club and the Social Media Strategists Club are looking for advisors, as well as some of the Greek Life organizations. Please reach out if interested in these student groups or if interested in being put on an ongoing list of interested faculty and staff for future student groups.

Psychology Career Day
Please excuse students from class who have to present their internship at Psychology Career Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 218 and 223 MSU. Students will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and hear about the experiences of other Golden Bears who have completed a psychology internship.

Oral Communication Rating Day
Oral Communication Rating Day will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, McFarland Student Union Building. Volunteers will go through a norming session together before lunch. Pairs will then break off to assess and rate student work products from SLO1 Cat 3-4 oral communication only. Written communication for this SLO was rated in May 2024, leaving only a few dozen student work products presented orally to rate. Volunteers should plan to attend the entire day; the norming process is required to participate in the rating sessions. Please plan to bring a laptop and possibly headphones. Please feel free to share this information with your colleagues and encourage them to attend. A reminder will be sent a week prior to the event.
