Donner Appointed Freyberger Professor of Pennsylvania German Studies

Dr. William W. Donner, professor of anthropology, has received a two-year appointment as Freyberger Professor of Pennsylvania German Studies at the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center, effective July 1. The Freyberger Professorship has been relaunched for the 2023-24 academic year as a faculty fellowship for the two-year appointment of a Kutztown University professor to coordinate the interdisciplinary Pennsylvania German Studies minor, pursue grant funding for the Heritage Center’s physical and programmatic needs and showcase leading scholarly research through the development of an annual Freyberger Professor Lecture Series.

KU Athletic Trainer Attends State Capitol in Support of High School Girls Wrestling

Shelby Hoppis, athletic trainer, recently attended the State Capitol in Harrisburg as a board member of SanctionPA, a nonprofit organization working to grow participation opportunities in the sport of wrestling. SanctionPA has advocated for and supported high school girls wrestling across the commonwealth and the PIAA approved and sanctioned girls wrestling for the 2023-2024 season May 17. The Pennsylvania Senate recognized this year's girls wrestling high school state champions, with Hoppis in attendance.

Travel Expenses

All travel expense reimbursement requests for travel through May 31 should be submitted through the Travel Management System no later than June 10.  For travel reimbursements for June 1-30, the travel expense reimbursement must be sent to Accounts Payable no later than July 10. Travel reimbursement requests turned in after July 10 will be applied to your FY 2024 budget.
