SGB Holds Campus Safety Walk

KU's Student Government Board held its annual Safety Walk Wednesday night, Nov. 6. Students were joined by President Hawkinson, along with university officials and administrators, to walk the campus and examine all aspects of campus safety.

The Community Outreach Center, in collaboration with Friend Inc., is looking for student organizations and university offices to consider donating to the Thanksgiving Holiday Food Box Drive. Please see our website for items that can be included in each holiday box. Thanksgiving boxes can be dropped off anytime 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, and by noon Monday, Nov. 18, Community Outreach Center, 281 McFarland Student Union Building. Class of 2024 Inducted into Kutztown Athletics Hall of Fame

The Kutztown University Athletics Hall of Fame enshrined its 45th annual and 2024 class during an induction ceremony inside the Nancy Jean Stump Seiger '54 Multipurpose Room Friday evening, Nov. 8. Making up the 2024 class are Sam Costello '15 (women's soccer), Nicole Henninger '14 (softball), Joshua Johnson '17 (men's basketball), Sara Keeny '19 (softball), Josh Mastromatto '13 (football) and Matthew Rowan '06 (men's swimming). Also recognized Friday evening was KU Athletics Legacy Award recipient, Dr. David E. McFarland. McFarland served as KU president for 15 years, from 1987 to 2002.

Sarah Gatehouse Earns Third Consecutive PSAC Champion Scholar

Prior to Friday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's semifinal round games at Shippensburg's Robb Sports Complex, graduate student captain Sarah Gatehouse of the KU field hockey team was recognized as the 2024 PSAC Champion Scholar. It is the third consecutive year Gatehouse received the award and she is the second player in program history to be crowned PSAC Champion Scholar, joining Hannah Shirk in 2019. The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award and honor the student-athlete with the top-grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's finals sites.
