Celebrate Wynnie's Birthday
We will celebrate Wynnie's Birthday, the First Dog of Kutztown University, 4-5:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 26, President's Residence. We will have birthday cake for guests, doggie treats for pets, and photo ops with Wynnie.

Staffing Change - Office of Student Assistance
The Office of Student Assistance provides ongoing support, guidance, connections and referrals for KU students, as well as consultations with faculty, staff, parents and students when they are concerned or have questions about a student. The Assistant Dean of Students leads the office staff. There is an active search to fill this position. Susan Mangold has moved to a role in Counseling and Psychological Services. Jessica Hainley will assume the duties of KUBIT and the KU Care Team while the search is underway. As always, referrals can be sent using an online form. - Residential Student Assistance Coordinator, Jessica Hainley, M.Div., M.Ed. Jess focuses on our residential students and coordinates programming efforts to support all KU students. Jess will continue this work during the search for an assistant dean with an office in 119 Stratton, after which she can be reached at 610-646-5808 in 311 Deatrick Hall.
- Student Assistance Coordinator, Jessica Urenko, LMSW. Jess works with all students with a focus on off-campus students. Jess coordinates classroom presentations about Student Assistance and support resources on- and off-campus. Jess can be reached at 610-646-4131 in 119 Stratton.
- Student Assistance Coordinator for Special Populations, Nadia Daher, MSW, LSW. Nadia directs the day-to-day operations of our PROFS program that supports independent students who have experienced foster care and those identified as homeless or unaccompanied youth. Nadia also serves as the student advocate for the newly formed Academic Exceptions Committee, which combines undergraduate and graduate exceptions in one committee. Student Recreation Center
The Student Recreation Center will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 21, to Friday, Aug. 23, for student staff training. Regular semester hours will resume Saturday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Keystone Hall Pool will resume regular semester hours Sunday, Aug. 25, 7-10 p.m.

Move-In Day: Thursday, Aug. 22
New Student Move-In Day is Thursday, Aug. 22. New students (first-year students and transfer students) and their families will begin to arrive on campus before the university opens, with a scheduled move-in time between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Access to campus will be adjusted for Thursday, Aug. 22. Employees should prepare for additional travel time as they navigate to their desired destination. Beginning 7 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, Kutztown Rd. will be one-way, Westbound, from College Blvd. to Luckenbill Rd. Kutztown Rd. will be divided into three lanes for appropriate areas of campus. Signage and staff will be on-site to assist.
- Travelers from East (Allentown): follow signage for appropriate lane on Kutztown Rd.
- Travelers from West (Reading): Kutztown Rd. will close at Luckenbill Rd. Turn left at Luckenbill Rd., right at North Campus Dr., left at Lytle Ln., right at College Blvd. to access campus.
Kutztown Rd. is expected to return to normal operation approx. 3 p.m., allowing for normal exit of campus at the end of normal business hours.

Faculty and Staff Convocation and Celebration
All faculty and staff are invited to the Faculty and Staff Convocation and Celebration Friday, Aug. 23, Schaeffer Auditorium, as we welcome the university community back to campus. During this event, we will announce the recipients of prestigious awards including the Schellenberg Award for Teaching and Learning, Chambliss Faculty Award, the Wiesenberger Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, Employee of the Year and the Coaches of the Year. It will be an esteemed gathering that recognizes outstanding achievements in our academic community. Disability Services Office: Informational Tables
Disability Services Office (DSO) staff will host informational tables in the Old Main Concourse/Lobby 9:30 a.m. to noon, Aug. 26-27, to answer any questions or concerns that faculty, staff or students may have regarding disability services and/or campus accessibility. Please feel free to stop by if you are available and have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to schedule a training session with the DSO. Faculty and staff can also schedule a training session with the DSO by completing the DSO Training Request Form.
